Huy Ho

Huy (Huey) is a Therapeutics trained clinical optometrist with 16 years of experience in Queensland. Graduating from Melbourne University in 2002, Huy gained experience by working in private and corporate practices. In 2004 he opened his independent practice in south-west Brisbane. Huy is an advanced contact lens practitioner with particular interests in orthokeratology and complex contact lens fittings.
He also has an interest in treatments reducing myopia progression and managing patients with ocular and systemic conditions including dry or watery eyes, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetes. Huy also works at the South East Queensland Centre of Excellence in ATSI Primary Health Care, where he helps manage complex eye diseases. He is also a visiting optometrist to the Indigenous Diabetes Eyes and Screening (IDEAS) service at Charleville and Mount Isa. Huy has developed extensive knowledge of pre- and post-eye surgical management for conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, pterygium and laser refractive surgery.
Huy recently has undertaken further studies to become qualified to perform eye examinations for the purposes of pilot licensing on the behalf of Civil Aviation Safety Authority for those requiring Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 aviation licences.
Huy’s other hobbies outside of optics include boating, fishing, camping, tennis, badminton and golf. To keep fit, Huy runs numerous marathons a year throughout Australia, and has done so for the past 15 years and counting.
He speaks English and Vietnamese fluently and knows some Mandarin Chinese. He lives in south-west Brisbane with his wife and 2 children.
Thuy-Tien Nguyen
Bachelor of Vision Science, Master of Optometry, Optometrist & Ophthalmic Medicines Prescriber
Tien graduated from QUT in 2017 as a therapeutically endorsed optometrist and started her career in Toowoomba. With the latest evidence-based practice, Tien applied her knowledge to manage different patient cases including but not limited to binocular vision dysfunctions, contact lens fittings and ocular disease management. Tien’s areas of interest include binocular vision, dry eyes and contact lens fitting.
Tien’s a passionate optometrist with ambitions to provide consistent and genuine care to all her patients. Tien’s favourite part of being an optometrist is having the ability to help improve an individual’s quality of life; from prescribing glasses for clearer vision, binocular vision training to improve muscle/accommodation function to producing timely referrals.
Prior to being an optometrist, Tien worked in the optical industry as a dispenser for 6 years, gaining valuable insight to different lens types, frame fittings and ophthalmic adjustments.
Aside from optometry, Tien likes to go hiking, kayaking, reading and babysitting. She speaks English and Vietnamese fluently.
Clara Tiong

Therapeutically Endorsed Optometrist
Clara is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist graduated from the Queensland University of Tehcnology (QUT). She enjoys caring patients of all age and loves the challenge of diagnosing and treating eye disease. Clara has shown great interest in myopia control, contact lens fitting, and binocular vision.
During internship, Clara had broad observations at different optometric stores and volunteered to provide eye care for indigenous committee. She also had her externship learning on pre-and post-operative refractive surgery and glaucoma co-management at an Eye Specialist Centre in Malaysia. As an optometric student, Clara was a committee member of Queensland Optometry Student Society.
Clara came from a multicultural background and is very approachable. She is fluent in English and Mandarin. She also speaks some Cantonese and Malay.
Emily Ho
Practice Manager
Emily was previously an aged care nurse. However, she has found her passion in the optical field after working in a mix of independent and corporate optometry clinics. She now has 14 years of clinical experience as an optical dispenser.
Emily has worked alongside some renowned optometrists in Melbourne and Brisbane specialising in advanced and soft contact lenses. She also has experience in some laboratory work, cutting and fitting optical prescription lenses. She can provide you with all cases of complex lens designs and fitting to all range of frames.
Besides her passion for optics, she also has a love for home-cooking and dining, travelling, latin dancing, photography and doing charity work. Emily is also bi-lingual and speaks English and Vietnamese fluently.
Naiomi Pham
Optical Dispenser
Bachelor Biotechnology Innovations (Hons). Queensland University of Technology.
Naiomi’s background is in the commercialisation of medical safety inventions. She developed an interest in optics after taking her mother for eye surgery. She stayed in the optical industry and now has 8 years’ experience as an optical dispenser and Practice Manager.
She is a mother of 2 children and enjoys planning and organising, interior design, teaching, charity work and salsa dancing. Naiomi is also bi-lingual and speaks English and Vietnamese.
